While most people work to earn a salary some people work without getting any money in return. These people are called volunteers.
The first week in June (1-7 June) is Volunteers' Week in the UK. Various events will be held around the UK to recognise and reward current volunteers and to recruit new volunteers.
Quite a lot of British people have done some voluntary work. But what motivated them to do so? What did they get out of their experience as a volunteer?
Yang Li and Finn Aberdein put these questions to a number of British people who have been or who still are volunteers.
What do British people think of volunteers? Is it popular to be a volunteer among young people there?
